The story

A crowned king sits on a throne under a red canopy, a lion at his feet and a great globe at the corner of the steps. Over the canopy the sun burns with a face. A crowd approaches from the left: figures carrying a scythe, a banner, a staff with snakes, a woman in a blue gown. Below, German lines and two psalms close the page, Laudate Dominum omnes Gentes, praise the Lord, all ye nations, and Benedicam Dominum in omni tempore, I will bless the Lord at all times. Page 82 is the last of the large paintings in the Wellcome's Thesaurus thesaurorum. The king is the finished stone, and the procession is everything the book has passed through to reach him.
